Your puppy will use the included growth-stage harness kits as they move through the program. These kits may be gently used, inspected, maintained, and approved by Optimus Gear before being sent out.
This lets us reduce waste, keep the program more affordable, and still make sure your puppy has the correct fit as they grow.
Once your dog is close to their final adult size, we ship their brand-new adult Optimus Gear harness kit.
Their final adult-size kit is new, yours to keep, and available in your choice of colour.
Every Puppy Program includes the harness systems needed for your selected size path.
Each harness kit includes:

The properly sized harness for that stage.
✔ Upper Tether
Attaches to the seatbelt as part of the vehicle safety system.
✔ Lower Tether
Helps keep your puppy stable and properly positioned during travel.
✔ Leash Converter
Allows you to easily connect a leash to the harness outside the vehicle.
Because we make the harnesses ourselves, we can inspect, repair, and maintain them properly instead of treating every size change like a brand-new purchase.
We sew, machine, inspect, assemble, and repair our harness systems in-house. That gives us control most companies do not have.

Normal puppy strap chewing during the growth-stage portion of the program is covered. Because we make and repair our harness systems in-house, we can repair or replace damaged straps when needed.
Heavy damage to the chest or back panel may require review, but normal strap chewing is part of the program.
If the Puppy Program is not the right fit for your family, you can return the growth-stage kits for a full refund before the final adult kit ships.
If a Defender Harness System is involved in a vehicle collision, Optimus Gear will replace it and cover shipping both ways.
