Nala – Founder
I’m Nala. I’m the reason Crash Safe Dog exists.
Years ago, I was riding in the car like I always did. Then we were in an accident. I was thrown forward and hit the dash. At the time, I wasn’t wearing a harness. Like so many families, mine didn’t realize how vulnerable dogs are in a vehicle until something went wrong.
After that day, my humans went looking for a harness that could actually keep dogs safe in a crash. What they found wasn’t good enough.
So they built one.
Crash Safe Dog was born out of that moment. Every product we make exists because of what happened to me, and because no one ever wants another dog to experience the same thing. Safety isn’t a feature here. It’s the foundation.
I’ve been here since day one. I oversee testing, supervise the shop from strategic nap locations, and make sure the team never forgets why this work matters. I may not say much, but everything we do is for dogs like me.
I’m not just part of the story. I’m where it started.
Maze – The Face
Hi, I’m Maze.
If you’ve met Crash Safe Dog in person, chances are you’ve met me. I love being out at events, meeting people, and soaking up the attention. I take after my dad that way. Wherever he goes, I’m usually right there beside him, doing this together.
I’m at the shop every day. I supervise, test gear, greet visitors, and make sure no one forgets to take a break when they should. When we head out to markets, talks, or events, I’m all in. I thrive on the energy, the conversations, and the chance to connect with people who care deeply about their dogs.
I’m more than a mascot. I’m a working part of the team and a constant reminder of why this company exists in the first place. This isn’t just a business to us. It’s our life, and I’m proud to be my dad’s partner in crime as we build it together.
Bowie – Younger Brother
Hi, I’m Bowie. I’m the puppy.
I’m energetic, curious, and always on the move. My job is to test our Puppy Program in real time, which mostly means learning what’s allowed, what’s not, and how to grow into shop life safely and responsibly. As my urge to eat absolutely everything slowly fades, I’ve been earning more freedom around the shop one day at a time.
I spend every day with my dad, who happens to be an incredible machinist. We’re together all day, every day. I watch him work, nap nearby, and follow him from machine to machine. He makes the parts that keep dogs safe, and I make sure he takes breaks when he should.
I’m learning how to be calm, how to focus, and how to exist in a busy manufacturing space without getting into trouble. It’s a work in progress, but that’s kind of the point.
My best friend is Maze. She shows me the ropes, keeps me in line, and reminds me how things are done around here. Between her guidance and my dad’s constant presence, I’m growing into my role one chewed cardboard box at a time.
I’m not just a puppy hanging around the shop. I’m part of the testing process, the learning process, and the future of Crash Safe Dog.
Fletcher – Head of Quality Control
This is Fletcher.
He doesn’t smile much. That’s not because he’s unhappy. It’s because he takes his job very seriously.
Fletcher approaches everything with focus and intention. He watches closely, evaluates situations, and doesn’t waste energy on nonsense. If something isn’t up to standard, he’ll let you know with a look long before a problem becomes an issue.
He’s not here for attention or small talk. In fact, he’s the only one on the team who refused to write his own bio, so we’re doing it for him.
Fletcher reminds us that protecting dogs isn’t about cutting corners or chasing trends. It’s about responsibility. It’s about doing things right, even when no one is watching.
He may look grumpy, but trust us. That’s exactly who you want in charge of quality control.
A Letter From The Co-Founder
Hey, I’m Andrew.
If you made it to this page, you’re probably the kind of person who slows down when you see a dog in a car. The kind who talks about their dog like a family member. The kind who wants to know who’s actually behind the things you buy.
So first, thank you for being here.
Crash Safe Dog exists because of dogs like Nala. Because of moments that scared us. Because we couldn’t shake the feeling that “good enough” wasn’t good enough when it came to safety. We didn’t start this company to sell products. We started it because something felt wrong, and we couldn’t ignore it.
Everything you see here is made by real people, in a real shop, with dogs underfoot every single day. We sew it. We machine it. We test it. We argue about details most people would never notice. And then we do it again, because your dog deserves more than shortcuts.
The dogs you’ve met on this page aren’t mascots. They’re the reason we care so much. They shape how we design, how we test, and how we think. Some are serious. Some are chaotic. Some are old souls. Some are puppies still learning the rules. All of them matter to us.
If you’re reading this, I hope you feel that. I hope you can tell this isn’t about hype or trends. It’s about responsibility. It’s about love. It’s about doing right by the creatures who trust us with everything.
Thank you for caring enough to scroll. Thank you for asking questions. Thank you for being the kind of person who wants to know who’s on the other side of the screen.
From me, and from every dog who keeps us honest,
Thank you.
Andrew
